About the event

Plants can be incredible support for mental health and emotional wellness, particularly in winter months in the Northern Hemisphere. In this workshop, we will deepen relationships with plant allies that can aid us in navigating the winter months with more perspective, ease and joy.

We will discuss nervines, adaptogens, and circulatory stimulants, as well as warming plants. In addition, we will discuss the energetics of plant allies that can aid us in looking within during winter months, while allowing us to feel held and supported. Together, we will create a mental and emotional wellness tea blend all participants will take home.

Specific allies that will be covered include St John's Wort, Rosemary, Eleuthero, Hawthorne, Skullcap, Albizzia, among others.

About the herbalist:

Ella Gluckman is an herbalist, perfumer, and artist who works with plants. In 2013 she began the clinical herbalism program at the Berkeley herbal center in Berkeley California, where she completed their clinical apprenticeship.  She has also studied natural perfumery  with  master perfumer Mandy Aftel. Ella engages with plants from a sense of love and eros, as well as from a place of ancestral veneration. She continues as a practitioner to connect with plants to support others in accessing more aliveness, eroticism, clarity and connection.

Her clinical practice has focused on reproductive health, emotional and mental health including depression and anxiety, moving through loss and grief,  sleep issues, and addictions among other issues. She is devoted co-creating healing spaces with clients, students  that are equitable, sustainable, accessible  and decolonized.
