Rest & Preparing for Winter
As the growing season has closed, we gather at the threshold of winter to work with the medicines, practices, and teachings of the quieter season. The earth is drawing it’s final breaths inward, and our attention turns toward what sustains us when growth becomes less visible.
Depending on the plants and materials available, our work may include working with conifer medicine, roots, immune remedies, and processing and organizing our seasonal harvests. We will prepare remedies for the months ahead, and reflecting on the skills and relationships we have cultivated throughout the year.
We will explore the importance of rest, observation, and tending to our own rhythms alongside those of the natural world. Herbalism is not only about gathering and making; it is also about learning when to pause, how to preserve what we have been given, and how to remain in relationship when the landscape grows quiet.
A closing gathering for the season, offering time to integrate our learning, share in community, and honor the cyclical nature of the work we do.
A Note on Our Gatherings
Each Seasonal Immersion Day is shaped by the land, the plants, and the season we are moving through. The description above offers a sense of our seasonal themes rather than a fixed curriculum. Specific plants, harvesting opportunities, and medicine-making projects will vary with the conditions of the land and what is ready to be worked with that day.
All experience levels are welcome. Come with a willingness to learn, work with your hands, and enter into relationship with the plants and the living world around you.
